Yes it has been four years.

It’s been that long since Ubisfot had released a new “Splinter Cell” game in the series. And even with the much publicized E3 2017, Ubisoft had fallen short on expectations that a new iteration would be seen.

But fret we must not. News have it that through a Reddit thread, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot hinted that various “things” are being worked upon regarding the game. He also added that the team is addressing and picking up one of the sketches and proposals they received surrounding the game.

Guillemot had said that fans may need to “wait” to see something.

Nothing solid there. But if we are to remember “Beyond Good and Evil”, the game had also been discounted to have any solid announcement at the E3. But of course, we all know that “Beyond Good and Evil 2” had just been teased, and that we will see its full release in 2018.

Maybe the CEO is just trying to get fans off track? We don’t know.

The last “Splinter Cell” iteration was “Blacklist” which was released back in 2013. The game was released for PC, XBox 360 and PS3.

What’s confirmed however is Ubisoft Toronto had just revealed its new game. Also, Hollywood is bringing “Splinter Cell” to the big screen which will be backed-up by the series’ rich narrative.
