Rodriguez Bails Out Of “The Fast and The Furious” Franchise If Female Characters Aren’t Treated Better

It was only going to be a matter of time before she spoke out.

While Michelle Rodriguez had starred in the testosterone-pumped franchise since the beginning, she expressed disappointment in “The Fast and The Furious”.

Rodriguez claimed that little regard is given to female characters in the franchise. Should the production team perpetuate this, then she’d resort into leaving “FF” altogether.

Rodriguez cited co-star Jordana Brewster as an example. She observed that only a few lines were given to her – that she could count the lines given to Brewster during her decade’s tenure in “FF” with only one hand.

Fans were quick to lobby that she stay. Rodriguez, being a thinker more than just an actress expounded that the franchise has a big responsibility to deliver quality representation to a multicultural audience.

She stated that no firm had spent $300 or even $250 Million dollars on a multicultural audience outside of Science Fiction. Rodriguez believes that FF has an obligation to cater to that audience.

Meanwhile, “The Fast and Furious 9” and “The Fast and Furious 10” are already confirmed for April 19th 2019 and April 2nd 2021 respectively.
