Manu Bennett Denies “Arrow” Season Finale Return; Katie Cassidy Confirmed For Season Six

Blind SpotIf we are to believe the recent news from the CW, fan belief that DC characters are killed or written-off of series to pave way for their appearance in the DCEU would finally be refuted.

Manu Bennett who played Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke in the second season of CW’s “Arrow” is reported to return in its fifth season finale, albeit his specific involvement had not been made clear.

However, in an interview with showrunner, Wendy Mericle, the executive producer was quoted saying that Oliver would be enlisting the help of an unlikely team to take down this season’s big bad, Prometheus. Mericle, who had been at the helm of the series alongside Marc Guggenheim since the show’s third season had described the alliance and the events that the Green Arrow would be involved in to be “emotional” and completely “unexpected”.

This statement, combined with Bennett’s apparent return to the Arrowverse leads fans to speculate that Deathstroke might be joining Oliver’s unlikely team.

But in a more recent report, Manu Bennett himself took to Twitter to deny his return to the series. While fans theorize that this is just another “Arrow” misdirect, the actor was vehement about his denial, stating that he is, in fact, currently in Auckland filming “Shannara Chronicles”.

On the other hand, “Arrow” alum, Katie Cassidy who had been brought back into the show, after her controversial exit, through “The Flash” and this season’s “Arrow” episode entitled, “Who Are You?”.

In the past weeks, the actress’ involvement had been solidified into a season six contract that would see her character immersed deeper into the Arrowverse.
