terminaro_final_24_2456624fThe awkwardly-titled, Terminator Genisys served as a reboot-sequel to the Terminator franchise that its creators hoped to revitalize the brand.

However, this had not been the case as Genisys had been poorly-received — much of the disappointment being owed to the story, the action and the actors themselves. That was saying a lot as the franchise had been known not only for superb thrill and action, but also for outstanding acting and character development.

And now, James Cameron had come forward to clear certain things up regarding the movie’s future.

Sarah-Connor-Emilia-Clarke_562ce2c8Yes, a new Trilogy is being planned. And yes, it is a reboot of sorts. Cameron, who had been assailed with questions surrounding the film’s relevance, is gearing the Terminator franchise to appeal to the world today.

Cameron had been quoted saying that he is in discussion with David Ellison who currently holds the rights to the brand.

A sequel to Genisys had initially been planned for May, but was shelved. However, Arnold Schwarzenegger himself had confirmed his involvement with the upcoming three-film arc.

The reboot is said to be formally announced this year.
