Night Shyamalan’s revitalised “Unbreakable” mythos. Reported recently, a MonsterVerse is in the works which kicked off with 2014’s “Godzilla” reboot. Millie Bobby Brown of “Stranger Things” fame and Kyle Chandler from “Bloodline” is set to star in the sequel which sees the expansion of the monster’s universe. The sequel entitled, “Godzilla: King of Monsters” which is set to be released in 2019 aims at grounding Godzilla, on a more relatable level.

The release date for the monster showdown, “Godzilla vs. Kong” is slated on May 22, 2020, a week’s adjustment from its original May 29 outing. The move is seen as a strategy to get more movie-goers as May 25th is Memorial Day weekend. The mega movie is the piece de resistance of the MonsterVerse which sees the new Godzilla and 2017’s King Kong from “Kong: Skull Island” battle it out for monster supremacy.

Disclosed recently, the MonsterVerse team had set up a writer’s room so as to effectively create the studio’s universe, much like what Marvel Studios and Paramount pictures are doing right now. Included in the writer’s pool is John DS. Payne and Patrick McKay (Star Trek Beyond), J. Michael Straczynski (World War Z and Sense8), T.S. Nowlin (The Maze Runner and Pacific Rim 2) and Terry Rossio, (Pirates of the Carribbean) taking the lead.
