Kojima, Frightened of the Direction America is Heading
In college, depending on what literary movement the student adheres to, despite being a solitary worker it is said that the artist or the writer is never divorced from society. And this could not be any more true in light of Mr. Hideo Kojima’s recent statements.
Regarding America’s current political climate, the “Metal Gear Solid” and “Death Stranding” brainchild expressed that he was quite apprehensive of what was happening to the country. Kojima recognizes that there is a need to talk about current affairs, and that the younger generation should be made to see as to what kind of world they are living in. He is genuinely interested in the social conditions but also stated that he is frightened of the direction America was moving towards.
But despite this, Kojima said he would carry on creating games. Despite his family urging him to go on hiatus, Kojima felt compelled by the industry and his peers to keep pushing forward with the Game Development. He even expressed that he would want to make a movie one day which would be quite a departure from his games.
Elsewhere, at the RTX Sydney 2017 Game Creators panel, Kojima had stated that a release date for Death Stranding had already been set. Although, in true Kojima fashion, he did not specify when exactly. He did say however that he is really keen on following deadlines and that he follows only his own set deadline, not the ones set by game publishers.
