Gamers get excited. Once they have consumed the adaptation, more often than not, they get disappointed.

But Hollywood doesn’t care. It’s resilient like that. That’s why even in the wake of the mixed reviews that the Michael Fassbender-starrer, “Assassin’s Creed” had received, news of film firms wanting to do adaptations still abound. One that is catching media attention is a movie translation of “Just Cause”.

An open-world, action-adventure video game, “Just Cause” follows the story of one Rico Rodriguez, an operative to an organization called the “Agency” whose main mission is to help overthrow Salvador Mendoza, San Esperito’s dictator. Created by Swedish Game Developer, Avalanche Studios and published by Eidos Interactive, the first of the “Just Cause” series was made available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 2, Xbox and Xbox 360 in 2006.

Stoking the fire, it had recently been reported that Jason Momoa had been approached to star in the film adaptation as Rico Rodriguez, with a script by John Collee (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World) and directed by Brad Peyton (San Andreas).

It was also disclosed that the film would be borrowing heavily from “Just Cause 3”. In this installment, Rodriguez is yet again sent to end the rule of a dictator, this time one who is called General Di Ravello who rules the Mediterranean Republic of Medici with sheer brutality.

Are you pinning your hopes on this new Video Game Film Adaptation? Do you think Jason Momoa, (Aquaman himself) is cut-out for the role? Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
