Japan Brings The Zany To The 2020 Olympics With New Ambassadors
Dear Japan, your pop culture ways always have a way of making us believe that the world could be happy-weird place. And with this recent news from the Olympics, you simply won our hearts. Again.
Announced through a colorful Facebook video on January 20th, the new product ambassadors for the 2020 Olympics would be as follows:
Astro Boy
Sailor Moon
Crayon Shin-chan
Luffy from One Piece
Naruto
Jibanyan (Yo-kai Watch)
Son Goku (Dragon Ball Super)
Cure Miracle and Cure Magical (Mahou Tsukai Pretty Cure)
These iconic characters bring in the fun to Japanese Olympic merchandise which conjure the potential of inviting more tourists to the event. Interesting to note, manga and video game company Kadokawa, Japan Airlines and JTB put their heads together to came up with Japan Anime Tourism Association (JATA) in the hopes of bolstering tourism through their anime culture.
