Director Chad Stahelski recently disclosed that a prequel might be created for television. While he expressed that there was an interest in making the second installment a prequel, the studio decided to not push through with it. Stahlski had this to say,

“Lionsgate is very interested in doing a John Wick TV show, and that seems very appealing to us, to give those creative ideas to that entity. I think in TV you could really expand on what that is, and greater than we could in just a two-hour film.

The director, who brought us the impressive intial John Wick salvo, also went on to state that the studio had told them to take their ideas further for a potential third installment. Stahelski hinted at the bigger roles that Ian McShane’s Winston and Lance Reddick might take on the franchise’s future.

Oh Mr. Stahelski, you tease us so.
