Not all concepts, even in the rapidly-changing and all-accepting terrain of pop culture, see materialization. However, a new project from FoxNext seem to be geared towards fruition.

Prop guns with haptic effects and hand tracking would also be utilized. In addition, it would integrate environmental effects. The game will also have a motion platform and will incorporate physical elements for a more grounded experience.

Seen as an expansion in initiative of the recently formed unit, FoxNext also stated in an interview that the game would be an innovation in storytelling.

The unit which is further subdivided into FoxNext Games, FoxNext VR Studio and the FoxNext Destinations is eyeing the dissemination of VR to the mainstream. Fox, through FoxNext is striving hard to create content for each of its divisions.

FoxNext alongside, iP2 Entertainment, a tech developer and operator of out-of-home experience and Pure Imagination, a VR content creator is working on the “Alien” Multiplayer game. The demo for the game utilizes a Gear VR headset but with a modification to adapt to iP2’s proprietary wireless VR technology.

Fox is currently riding along the waves of VR creation with offerings such as the VR short based on Fox Searchlight’s “Wild”; the Ridley Scott overseered, “The Martian VR Experience”, and “Alien: Covenant In Utero”. All of these were created through the Fox Innovation Lab.

The “Alien” franchise is no stranger to the video game arena.

In 2014, Creative Assembly came out with a survival horror game entitled “Alien: Isolation”. With an emphasis on stealth and survival horror gameplay, this single-player follows Amanda Ripley, daughter to Ellen Ripley, as she tries to search for her estranged mother. What ensues is Amanda’s claustrophobic race to survive the Xenomorph that had plagued the remaining waking hours of her mother.
