Exciting Indeed: Motion Twin’s New Game, “Dead Cells” Is A Game Alamgam of Sorts; Comes to Early Access This May

Coming this May 10th for PC on Steam in Early Access, “Dead Cells” is an exciting new action platformer game that borrows various elements from well-known games such as “Castlevania”, roguelikes and “Dark Souls”. While its developer, Motion Twin, has yet to disclose its selling price they had assured that 30%-40% of the full game’s content will be available in the Early Access version. Reports had also confirmed that “Dead Cells” would be developed for both Mac and Linux in the immediate future.

Called a “RogueVania” game by Motion Twin, “Dead Cells” appears to be a hybrid of sorts as it bears certain aspects of Metroidvania with roguelikes.

Interesting to note that despite the game’s fascinating element, “Permadeath”, its various progression systems doesn’t automatically mean that a player who had died in a certain level would have to be reverted back to square one.

Another reported interesting feature is the game’s “punishing” difficulty coupled with a Soul-like combat.
