Yep, it’s been said and confirmed. Today’s era of filmmaking is one of the most unoriginal, overly-inspired and extremely exhausted. Can you say “reboot” without being thrown dirty looks? Yeah, we figured.

So here comes another one that will have reeling with either excitement or diarrhea. Reliable sources from Hollywood just confirmed that “Resident Evil” is set for a reboot! A. REBOOT. Let that sink in.

Constantin Films yet again takes the reins at the launch as it did back in 2000 with Mila Jovovich.

Known in Japan as “Biohazard” the game, “Resident Evil” sees a future where the Umbrella Corporation, a bioengineering pharmaceutical company, had thrown the world into a zombie apocalypse with a potent mutagen called the T-Virus.

Final chapter: NOT. Watch the trailer to “Resident Evil: Final Chapter” here:

Considered to be the highest-grossing film franchise of a videogame adaptation, “Resident Evil” is reported to have earned a total of $1.2 billion across the globe. And maybe, just maybe, Constantin Films would want to top that? We don’t know.

No specifics on the director or cast had been made public yet.
