Could this potentially be the “Assassin’s Creed” series that was reported earlier this year? If so, this would be a most exciting addition to the growing arsenal of Ubisoft’s multimedia interpretations of its properties such as the Tom Hardy-starrer “Splinter Cell” and Jake Gyllenhaal’s “The Division”.

Last year’s “Assassin’s Creed” didn’t exactly sit well with the game’s long time players.

While attached to the original “Assassin’s Creed” mythos, the movie boastsĀ  of a an entirely new story and a new character; this the fans didn’t take so well. A lot of avid AC followers didn’t appreciate Michael Fassbender’s Aguilar. In addition, a great deal of the fight scenes weren’t shot properly.

Now with the series in the works, the fans’ faith might be revitalized should the treatment be faithful to the game’s narrative.

We sure hope that things pan out well with the planned “Assassin’s Creed” series.

Meanwhile, “Assassin’s Creed: Origins” is still in the works and is yet to receive a release date. According to sources, this chapter would serve as a prequel to the franchise and would see ancient Egypt as its setting.
