Talking about the upcoming sequel to the 2014 success, director James Gunn just confirmed two prominent names taking on “important” and “decent” roles in the sci-fi-superhero comedy sequel.

Fans speculate that action icon Sylvester Stallone personally mentioned by Gunn would be taking on the cosmic titan, Galactus. Fearsome and formidable, Galactus, born on the ancient planet Taa, is the only survivor of the former universe prior to the Big Bang.

Michael_RosenbaumThe herald to the gigantic entity is one Norrin Radd of planet Zenn-La, or more popularly known as the Silver Surfer. The actor speculated to play the character is Michael Rosenbaum who is not a stranger to comic book adaptations. Rosenbaum is fondly remembered as the sleek and suave intellectual, Lex Luthor in the CW, (then WB) hit, “Smallville”.

In Marvel canon, Galactus had employed Silver Surfer’s services after the latter had pleaded that his planet, Zenn-La, be spared from Galactus’ appetite. The pair would then venture to look for other worlds to consume.

This anticipation by fans bring in so much excitement. With the “Guardians of the Galaxy” filling up much of the Marvel pantheon on a cosmic level, it’s hard not to think that Stallone and Rosenbaum would be taking on the powerful duo. But of course, why would we limit ourselves with Galactus and Silver Surfer? They may well be Adam Warlock and the High Evolutionary or high officers of the Nova Core. The possibilities are endless.

Whatever their roles might be, Stallone and Rosenbaum are most definitely exciting additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
