The Purge Series Confirmed for Television
To date, three movies have already been included within James DeMonaco’s socio-political/thriller/slasher film franchise, “The Purge”. The series kicked-off with the successful 2013 movie followed a year after by “The Purge: Anarchy” and then last year’s “The Purge: Election”. All iterations follow a fictional America where citizens are given a twelve-hour period wherein all crimes are stripped of penalties and punishment for a day.
Blumhouse, the film company responsible for the release of the successful franchise had just confirmed that it would be extending to the small screen. This would be produced by the company’s television counterpart, Blumhouse Television which would be re-launched as a standalone television studio. Universal Cable Production would be co-producing the series and is said to be shown on USA and Syfy.
Gathering more material for its re-launch, Blumhouse Television would also be taking the reins on “Secure and Hold: The Last Days Of Roger Ailes” a series announced to have a limited run that acts as a biopic for the Fox News founder.
