The 1974 action-thriller “Death Wish” received a remake through director Eli Roth. Violent in delight, the trailer for the now Bruce Willis-starrer (originally headlined by Charles Bronson) had just been released this Thursday.

The movie would follow Chicago Surgeon, Dr. Paul Kersey as he spirals into becoming a vigilante after his wife and daughter are brutally assaulted.

While the original did have quite a following, many of American netizens didn’t find the trailer palatable.

The violence that the “Death Wish” trailer had excuded were frowned upon by many – the primary consideration was the country’s anxiety-ridden socio-political climate.
