So let’s get to know the man behind the works in this short interview by Xeno Creatives.

Xeno Creatives (XC): Given your experience in the industry, what do you think is your edge as a 3D artist?

Earl Vincent Kasilag (EVK): I can say that its Anatomy sculpting as well as being able to improvise tools, adapt to new workflows and use it to my advantage in digital sculpting.

XC: Before concentrating on ZBrush as a primary tool of 3D creation, what were the other software that you used?

EVK: ZBrush has been my primary tool from the start. But I used to work with Maya and Topogun for asset production doing retopology, UV unwrapping, and a few modelling work for films and TV.

XC: What made you turn to ZBrush? What about it appealed to you?

EVK: ZBrush already caught my eye when I was still learning. I’ve seen artists do amazing work with it! You have the freedom to create whatever you like with the highest detail you can imagine. And I love character work so this software fits me very well.

XC: What was your most exciting project to date?

EVK: I had so much fun and exciting projects before but i would probably pick “Thomas Wayne Batman” of the “Flashpoint Paradox”. I’m into dark character concepts like Batman. Spawn is also in my character lineup, which I am very excited to work on.

XC: So far, what were the challenges that you had encountered working in the 3D industry?

EVK: In this industry, competition is tough so you have to do your best to Improve the quality of your work and adapt to new workflows. I struggled before with some projects because of my lack of knowledge in their Process.I was very confident that I can handle it well. But confidence is not the only thing you need in this battle. I had to do rush reaserch and do tests if it works. Lack of sleep kicked in and I wasnt able to focus on my work. I learned my lesson after that. Now things are going pretty well for me.

XC: Among your many AWESOME concepts, what stands out for you? Do you have favorites?

EVK: Still Thomas Wayne Batman! lol. Like I said, I love dark character concepts. And this one is the only character that I have completed in this kind of concept. Hoping to do more like this in the future.

XC: What other concepts do you want to create through ZBrush?

EVK: Would love to do Biomech concepts like the legendary “H.R.” Giger. but with a few touches of my own.

XC: What advice can you give to aspiring artists?

EVK: Don’t give up when things don’t go the way you want it. Just take a break to clear your mind and get back to it when you are ready. Stress can destroy your creativity and productivity. So just take a break, have a KitKat. lol
