Ares: Wonder Woman’s Onscreen Big Bad

ares12017 is going to hit us hard with girl power.

Yes, DC’s ultimate Femme Fatale is finally conquering the big screen with June’s superhero movie, “Wonder Woman”.

Reeling after the bad reviews that had pestered its initial three superhero movie offerings, “Man of Steel”, “Batman V. Superman”, and “Suicide Squad”, DC is pinning its hopeson finally taking off with this modern day rendition of the Amazonian. But apart from the teasers and the trailers that we have been getting, much is not said about the movie’s main story itself.
However, French magazine Studio CinĂ© had revealed a key element to the movie’s storyline. Getting cues from the first publication of the Wonder Woman comic book in 1942, the magazine had reported that the Greek God of War, Ares would be Wonder Woman’s main antagonist.

Compounding the report, actor Danny Huston cast to play a Nazi officer leads to fan theories that he might be the God of War in disguise given that his character is said to possess “superpowers” and has a “desire” for world domination.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, “Wonder Woman” is set to be released on June 2, 2017. Themovie stars: Gal Gadot in the title role, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston and Connie Nielsen
